New York City's celebration of New Year and Christmas Holidays are closely associated with Times Square and the area around it, but not with the snow.
In February 2006, the East Coast was hit by a blizzard that brought record breaking snowfall to New York City, 26.9 inches. It was literally the largest amount of snowfall ever recorded for the City. We were right there in Times Square to capture this rare event. Just take a look at one of our pictures: "Blizzard on Times Square." It's really amazing how different Times Square looks after a snowfall, especially one as grand as the 2006 northeaster.
